Here’s a thought I’d like to share…
What we reach for may be different, but what makes us reach is the same. ~Mark Nepo
The older I get, the more I get it. We’re not so different one from the other.
When we’re young, we strive to be unique. We assert our personalities, and pride ourselves in finding our “place in the world.” We choose sides based on some arbitrary dividing line. We see in black and white. And that’s okay.
As we get older, we get more pliable. We’ve been softened by our mistakes, our broken hearts, our glories, and our defeats. We understand that things change, this too shall pass, and that there is a common thread that runs through us all. We learn to see shades of gray and colors bright and beautiful.
As we mature, in age and/or in spirit, our journeys’ lessons ripen us like fruit on the vine. And if we’re lucky, if we hang on long enough, we get sweeter with time.
Wishing you a ripening heart,
Namasté Augusta
