Soul Writers Circle
Writing and meditation are both, in many ways, solitary acts that involve deep listening and a far-reaching willingness to show up. And when we practice mindfulness and writing together—oh, the possibilities for inspiration, connection, and heart-awakening conversation.

Join psychotherapist/mindfulness teacher/yoga instructor Augusta Kantra and poet Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer in a monthly online community practice in which we build a community that supports each other as we explore together, through silence and language, what does it mean to be alive? But as Ramana Maharshi says, "The purpose of asking who am I is not to arrive at an answer but to dissolve the questioner."

Soul Writers Circle Community
Soul Writers Circle is not meant to be about producing a “product,” but about going on a journey. The aim is not perfection, but rather to open our hearts just a crack to allow the light in. In the words of Leonard Cohen, “Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” Each person brings their unique gift/light to this journey.

You do NOT need to be an experienced writer or poet. You simply need to have the desire to see what comes through you as you open to writing from your truth. Soul Writers Circle is intended for people with a sincere desire to explore, share, write from the heart, and listen from the soul. The only requirement is the willingness to “show up and burn brightly.”

Participating in an online community is an incredible opportunity to connect with people from all over without traveling. It is the chance to BE together even though we aren’t together.

We are passionate about this vision and are excited about sharing this adventure with you!
What You Can Expect
Before each session, the theme and the poems curated for that theme are sent by email. No preparation is required. We do offer “invitations” for the weeks between sessions so that the learning and exploration can continue and deepen, but there is no homework given.
​
During each session we follow this format: We begin with an opening poem read by Rosemerry and then compose a “group poem” under her direction. Augusta then presents on the theme of the day, including a mindfulness practice, a reflection time and a breakout room. We then take a short break. When we resume, Rosemerry leads as we read the poems together and discuss them. She then offers writing invitations for each poem and insights about the poems and about writing in general. There is a 30 minute off-camera writing time. We come back together, talk about the process we just experienced, then go into breakout rooms to read our writings to our small group. We then share our writings with the group as a whole. (No one is ever required to share any more than they are comfortable doing so.) We end our time together with “pearls” – each person’s important “take-away” point.

After each session, the writing invitations, the invitations for continued exploration, the opening poem, and the recording for the day’s session are sent to everyone by email.

Soul Writers Circle is an opportunity unlike any other. Souls coming together to explore, grow, share, and offer true presence. It is a treasure.

We're so excited to announce our first Soul Writers Circle of 2025! Registration is now open and limited to the first 20 people (per session) who sign up and complete the registration, including payment.

This is a six-month commitment, starting in January and ending in June 2025. Below you'll see our schedule for the Sunday Sessions and Monday Sessions; choose whichever works best for your schedule. Once you're registered, you won't be able to switch sessions.
