Shine Brightly!

Here’s a thought I’d like to share…

We ask ourselves, ‘who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of the Universe. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of the Divine that is within us. It’s not just in some of us: it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.  ~Marianne Williamson

For most of us, it’s difficult to own our own worth; to stand up and feel strong and empowered.

Growing up, I remember being told, “Don’t get too big for your britches.” To this day, when doubt creeps into my world, I pose the question to myself, “Am I trying to be too big for my britches?”

We were taught the sins of vanity… but were we taught the freedom of valor? In letting our own light shine we illuminate the path for ourselves and for others. It’s not vanity. It’s not being too big for your britches. It’s just being as true to our highest self as we can be. And when we’re true to ourselves, we feel liberated – free and open-hearted.

When others are courageous, we feel more courage. When others love deeply, we feel our own willingness to love deepen. When others stand up, we feel our own legs grow stronger. When others shine, we shine brightly more easily.

When we hold back, shrink, or let doubt darken us, we cannot give the gifts that the Universe gave us to give. It’s a bit like burying treasure and forgetting it’s there. It doesn’t serve you or anyone else.

So get digging!!  Dig up your treasure and share it with the world!

Wishing you an accurate treasure map, a sharp shovel, and the strength and courage to dig,
